🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Express Frustration About Size Modifications Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The popular resale platform has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update. Social Media Backlash Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category than originally posted due to the recalibration. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services. It has advised users to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Changes Earlier, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Stories Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
